Jason D. Meister is Managing Director in the Investment Sales group at Ackman-Ziff, a 90-year-old, privately held real estate capital advisory and brokerage firm.
Mr. Meister’s broad experience includes successful transactions across a diversity of property types –residential, multi-family, retail, industrial, land, mixed-use and office – with particular expertise in development/re-development sales. In the past nine years alone, Mr. Meister played integral roles in numerous high-profile and complex dispositions, including commercial buildings sold for adaptive reuse as residential, 99-year ground leases, and assorted bankruptcy 363 sales.
Prior to joining Ackman-Ziff, Mr. Meister was an investment sales specialist at both Avison Young – New York and Grubb & Ellis.
In the years preceding his focus on New York City real estate, Mr. Meister was a boutique luxury homebuilder and residential broker on the exclusive island enclave of Nantucket. His venture involved both the development of spec-homes and the sale thereof to high-profile executives such as Lee Iacocca, former CEO of Chrysler Corporation; the heirs of publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst; and the CEO of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
